MASS SHOOTINGS followed by THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS followed by NRA TALKING POINTS followed by NOTHING followed by the NEXT MASS SHOOTING.
That is the unmistakeable trend in America these unfortunate and bloody days.
It’s an endless loop of carnage and cowardice, with a slaughter of innocents regularly sacrificed at the altar of gun rights. The NRA is the bloodthirsty Republican god requiring lives to satisfy it’s lust for power, greed and money.

We have a governor, Greg Abbott, who in October 2015, tweeted the following—
“I’m EMBARRASSED: Texas #2 in nation for new gun purchases, behind CALIFORNIA. Let’s pick up the pace Texans. @NRA”
We have a Texas Attorney General, Ken Paxton, who in yesterday’s mass shooting aftermath of the 26 dead and 20+ seriously wounded in Sutherland Springs, Texas stated the following—
"As we speak, we’ve had shootings at churches for forever. This is going to happen again. And so, we need people in terms of professional security or in terms of arming the parishioners or the congregation so that they can respond when something like this happens again.”
Paxton’s cowardly statement gives us a window into the fear-mongering mentality that NRA-owned politicians repeat on infinity.
His answer is for peaceful church folk to arm themselves to the teeth so they can join in the shootout. While they’re at it, why not put on Kevlar bulletproof armor and place a Thermal Matrix weapons detection system up front in the church foyer.
It doesn’t take a person with an IQ of 150 to know that more firearms won’t solve anything. That will just cause more problems.
Turning houses of worship and institutions learning into militarized environments crawling with armed citizens waiting for the next perceived threat to walk through the doors is an epic disaster waiting to occur.
Imagine 750 people (out of the 20,000) in the Las Vegas mass shooting last month carrying weapons to protect themselves. Nobody knew where the bullets were coming from, so if people started drawing their weapons there would have been mass confusion followed by a nightmare scenario of panicked people firing on each other. Concealed carry would have become open season on everyone as untrained and paranoid citizens shoot blindly into crowds while chaos rains down from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Hotel.

The Texas Trio of NRA stooges—Governor Abbott, Attorney General Ken Paxton and Lt. General Dan Patrick are politicians that will never remove themselves from their chains to the NRA and it’s blood money.
Thoughts and prayers for 20 children and 6 educators shot dead in the 2012 Sandy Hook school mass murder didn’t move them to action.
Thoughts and prayers for 9 bible-studying African Americans shot dead in the 2015 Charleston church massacre didn’t move them to action.
Thoughts and prayers for 49 gay LatinX clubgoers shot dead in the 2016 Miami Pulse Nightclub mass shooting didn’t move them to action.
Thoughts and prayers for 58 Las Vegas concert goers shot dead and 546 injured didn’t move them to action.
Thoughts and prayers are useless if not backed up by meaningful action and change.
In fact, thoughts and prayers without action is an act of violence against America in itself.
Only God knows the blood the gun lobby and it’s politicians have on their hands.
