What is it about president Trump’s presidency that seems to create an atmosphere of destruction?
Every time I turn on the news I half expect to hear someone reporting on the the return of the four horsemen of the apocalypse, bursting through the clouds with swords in hand, swinging.
Maybe they’re already here and Donald Trump is one of them.
Trump is hellbent on wielding apocalyptic power as he wildly swings his sword at DACA, healthcare, nuclear war, IRS reform, climate change, environmental protection, immigration and many other issues that profoundly affect us as Americans.
He swings with eyes closed, mind shut and without a thought to repercussions.
Trump flailed at North Korea recently with his dangerously careless words threatening loose cannon dictator Kim Jong Un that he would unleash “fire, fury and frankly power, the likes of which this world has never seen before.”
A few days ago this dictator detonated a nuclear bomb test underground that registered a 6.3 on the Richter scale. A bomb that could be hundreds of times more powerful than those that leveled Hiroshima and Nagasaki to close WWII.
Our president is self-destruction personified and he is bringing us down with him.
This man needs to be reined in but the Republican Party and to an extent, the Democratic Party are allowing him to push his presidency to the very edges of danger and excess.
Everyone thought that Chief of Staff General John Kelly would be the stopgap that could finally bring an end to Trump’s run through the china shop but it was obvious early on that Trump is too much bull for Kelly to handle.
Our leaders in Washington need to steel themselves and do whatever is necessary to take care of this unprecedented presidential problem.
Meanwhile the Apocalypse continues.
